Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth and overall health.  Unlike humans, cats will not allow a routine dental cleaning without full general anesthesia.  While under anesthesia, we follow the same monitoring protocols as with our other surgical procedures.
 
We use ultrasonic scaler to thoroughly clean each tooth above and below the gum line.  Digital full mouth radiographs are obtained for every patient to assess for problems with tooth roots under the gum line.  Our veterinary technicians then polish the teeth to create a smooth surface that is more resistant to plaque buildup.
 
Should the need arise for extractions of any diseased or painful teeth, we will make sure your companion is as comfortable as possible by performing nerve blocks and providing adequate pain management pre- and post-operatively.
